HiFi God Explained
The Door
This “stained glass” (acrylic) piece adorns the entrance to the Installation. Adopted from christian stained glass imagry ,this door has a rear projection on it, showing static, and a rotating collection of sybols representing “Transmit”, “Rece.ive”, “Reconfigure” and “Restore”
The HiFi God began as my graduate studies capstone project at East Tennessee State University, where I had the opportunity to discover the intersection between Digital Media and Art. I wanted to find a way to take concepts from video games and apply them in physical space.
Pepper’s Ghost and the Unreal (game) Engine was the answer.
