What does it feel like to need something and not have the words for it?
Commissioned by Todos Juntos Learning Center in Austin, TX, this Twine game drops players into a bus station where every sign, every interaction, every instruction is in Toki Pona, a simple constructed language they've never seen before. They have two minutes to figure it out before their bus leaves.
The frustration is the point. After playing, docents used the experience as a jumping-off point for conversation, connecting that feeling of helplessness to the daily reality of Todos Juntos students navigating life in English.
